Silo Terrace Oyster Bar The Silo family has been offering gourmet, high-end cuisine at two restaurants for years, but they opened a new location barely over a year ago that focuses solely on seafood. Try your oysters alongside one of the restaurant's best cocktails, the French 75. During happy hour from 3 to 6 pm (till 8 pm on Tuesdays), Lüke offers raw oysters for 75 cents and charboiled oysters for a dollar. Additionally, the refreshing fried oyster salad with a creamy avocado mousse and bacon is a highlight. It offers various types of raw oysters as well as a mammoth oyster po'boy. Will absolutely come back here the next time we're in town.Lüke Chef John Besh’s Lüke has been famous for its oysters for a long time. Of course, the truffle mac & cheese was hit with the little ones. Even the roast chicken was flavorful and not dried out. The fried oysters were also one of our favorite dishes of the night - well seasoned and cooked crispy and hot. When it comes to the table, they'll remove it from the shell for you. It was served over a bed of velvety mashed potatoes and a few asparagus and served with clarified butter. The lobster tail was also excellent and well cooked. The only critique we had on the cioppino was that we wish the sauce was a bit thicker, but the flavor and quality of the seafood was top notch. For the kids, we ordered the Chicken Fried Oysters and Roasted Chicken with truffle mac & cheese. For entrees, my wife and I ordered the Cioppino ($Mkt) and Tristan Island Lobster Tail ($Mkt). The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake ($18) was extremely high quality crab meat. PERFECTLY cooked and spiced on the outside. My wife ordered the Pepper Seared Ahi Tuna ($16) - one of the best tuna dishes she's ever had. I ordered the Hamachi Sashimi & Nigiri ($19) to start - excellent quality fish and the Nigiri was served with a spicy jalapeno on top. The crispy calamari was was a great starter for the kids - not too spicy - so good, we ordered a second plate. The Texas Ruby Red cocktail was slightly above average, but the seasonal mule drink was excellent - holiday flavors while still keeping all the best parts of the Moscow Mule. The room is great for young kids because it's separate from the rest of the restaurant and they can walk around without disturbing the rest of the guests. We took our whole family (including 5 kids 8 and under) here during the holidays and reserved the private room. ![]()
